interview approp

What to wear to a job interview can be a daunting task, when what's professional and appropriate varies from one industry to the next. Overall though, I find that many jobs are much more casual than one would initially think. My advice: toss away the classic all black look with a white collared top and wear something that speaks to your personality. You're trying to land a job, so you want to truly shine and feel comfortable. While it's a major "duh" to look put together and sophisticated, why not have some fun and play around with some colors or prints. If you don't get the job, at least you'll be remembered for your fabulous outfit! And if colors aren't your thing, there's always accessories. The only takeaway when steering from the standard interview outfit is to not be too distracting, i.e. dramatic chandelier earrings or neon pink blouses.

My interview look really speaks to my personality: colorful, classic, and clean. This printed jacket is the right amount of color and print without being too distracting, especially when anchored down with the navy blouse and black trousers. When it comes to accessories, I am a minimal kinda of girl, so some playful metallic loafers and classic leather bag are all I need. Oh yeah, and hopefully that job too! (wink, wink)
