repurpose

I recently went through my closet and decided I needed to get rid of some clothes. A walk-in closet, two big dressers, and half of a hall closet seems to constitute that I have too many things and a major shopping problem. As the saying goes, old habits die hard. It's so difficult for me to go through my closet and say no to clothes. I am such a sentimentalist when it comes to pieces-- so instead of getting rid of items, I decided to repurpose them. That's totally rational right? Now I don't need to get rid of anything and I can put shopping on the back burner.

Do you remember Missoni for Target? Well, after that but before Alexander Wang for H&M, there was French Connection for Sears. Yup, I bet you didn't see that one coming. In 2012, I decided to cut through a Sears to get into the mall and came across this collaboration. Wow, words cannot describe, but it felt like a beautiful hidden gem that only I knew about. This printed shirt dress was one of my favorite buys from the collection. I still wear it all the time as a dress, but this look I decided to wear as a tunic. Totally works, totally cute. Also totally cute, this furry scarf that my mom purchased for me way back in 2001. Thanks mom- for knowing that my sassy seventh grade self would be thankful for such a fab piece thirteen years later. You rule.
