new game: pin the poodle on the collar

It's the middle of May, but the weather is feeling more like fall. I'll take it because there is nothing I love more than a good layered outfit. Recently, I've been crushing over bloggers working the whole "dress over pants" look. Some of my favorites located here and here. For me, I love the play on lengths and proportions-- and to all my shorter girls out there, you can totally rock this!

If you know me, you know I love poodles--and if you didn't, now you know. I've never been a poodle owner, but a poodle collector that I have been. These bejeweled poodle pins are just a small part of my poodle treasures. They are also a personal favorite. I won't lie: I've had difficulty wearing them, like do people really wear a pins anymore? Are we still in the Bye Bye Birdie era? As much as I would love that, wearing a pin the traditional way was not appealing; however, repurposing as some collar embellishment--oh yes, into that. It's kinda punky, while also being a little fancy (cue in scene from 101 Dalmatians.) Those are some really funny references (please look up!)but if that's not working for ya--check out this for inspiration.
