minimalistic mixing

I love an eclectic vibe that mixes old styles with modern ideas. Shot by Mr. Saavedra, this look has a vintage feel in a 21st century world. I have never been a person who wears a lot of black, but recently I found a new appreciation for neutrals  When doing an all neutral look, I think it's extremely important to concentrate on textural differences. The lace skirt worked so well against the softness of the silk blouse. Pairing the leather jacket on top was the perfect piece to finish the look. Mixing and matching textures was not the only mix-match happening here. Jackie and I totally played around with prints, which seems like an obvious at this point! Polka dots and lace is always a great combination.

I wanted to showcase a look that played with neutrals in dynamic ways, while still containing a minimalistic aesthetic. Parts of this outfit are vintage treasures-the ruffle lace gloves, the oversized sunnies, and the polka dotted wrap blouse- making this outfit feel so unique. The structured leather jacket and tight high-waisted skirt bring this look back to present time. It is interesting and edgy, yet still refined in an elegant way.

Black and white is a safe choice, but only if you make it that way. This outfit is bold and daring without relying on some bright color or crazy print. Its subtle details makes it so stylish.

Blouse: Vintage; Skirt: TopShop, Nordstroms; Leather Jacket: Vince; Booties: Elizabeth and James; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Sunnies: Vintage Dior; Lace Gloves: Vintage

A HUGE thank you to everyone involved with these pictures. Jackie did just an amazing job with my hair. This braided messy bun was so amazing- -I wish I knew how to replicate it.
